Tom Armstrong began working in construction at age 15 as a laborer, laborer foreman, carpenter, framer and layout worker. At 16, Tom took the entry test to become an apprentice carpenter and applied himself to that trade full-time on various sites throughout San Diego.

At 18, Tom advanced to a journeyman carpenter. He spent the next two years specializing in the construction of stairways, and then he moved onto building roofs. Two years later, Tom was hired by a major developer to supervise several phases of multi-story condominiums and housing tracts. And two years after that, Tom went solo, designing and building remodels and new homes, which he’s been doing ever since.

Today, Tom immerses himself in every aspect of his business. He is president of Armstrong Builders, Inc. and supported by a team of the finest craftspeople and experienced supervisors, most of whom have remained loyal because they respect
